Skin is the biggest organ in the body, covering, protecting and interfacing the internal system with external world. Besides thermoregulation and excretion of certain metabolites, skin also trigger the alert mechanism resulting in elicitation of certain immunological responses.
The skin has four sets of super-specialized cell assemblies such as Merkel cells, Langerhans’s cells, Melanocytes and Keratinocytes. The Merkel cells and Langerhans’s cells execute the functional roles in the internal system whereas Melanocytes and Keratinocytes perform predominantly the role of skin re-generation and pigmentory protection.
The skin cells are damaged by chemicals, physical assault, sun exposure etc. In most cases, the alongside of newly synthesized cells, the cells with rich melanin pigment do occur where the excessive pigment offer protection to the newly formed cells and such process is called post-inflammatory pigmentation.
During sun exposure, melanocytes becomes active and would produce a dark coloured pigment called melanin which then transferred to keratinocytes and then the cells would migrate upward to cover the epidermis. The pigmentation of the skin during sun exposure is a positive defense mechanism happens for the purpose of protecting the genetic material stored in the nucleus of the skin cell called DNA, from UVA and UVB.
When sun exposure is transient and or the sunlight if carry more of UVA than UVB, tanning occur immediately or else, skin turns reddish due to sun burn.
Three types of pigmentory changes are noticed in skin as a result of sun exposure
- Immediate pigment darkening
- Delayed pigment darkening
- Persistent pigment darkening
When UVA is predominant, skin will express immediate skin darkening to offer instantaneous protection to the skin. If the exposure turns rhythmic and regular to such sunlight, the tanning tends to go persist over skin which is reversible, called facultative tanning.
Other two types of skin colour changes occur more due to UVB abundance in the sunlight where the skin is rich in melanin, tends to resist the assault of UVB but the exposure if turns regular and continuous, the skin would yield and operate a separate line of defense mechanism called delayed pigment darkening which includes pigmentation as well as some proportion of cells being damaged where inflammatory pigmentation takes place. When UVB is too high, the skin burns instead tan due to high penetrating effect of UVB; where skin cells die instantaneously not to allow DNA damage to take place and the damaged DNA participating in the subsequent cell copying and the entire sequel would result in pigmentory change which may persist over time, called persistent pigment darkening.
Dr. JRK’s Research and Pharmaceuticals Pvt., Ltd., has come out with credible and scientifically established solution to the problem of skin tanning and reverting facultative tanning and making the skin look radiant, sober and tantalizing with ivory glow, gently over the respective constitutive skin colour.
Combination of vitamins, herbal constituents, antioxidant rich reserved oils, botanical fraction collected from germinating seeds of cereal grain along with select fatty acid bases, Dr. JRK’s Research and Pharmaceuticals Pvt., Ltd., has formulated Evefresh face cream to offer finest solution to tanning, especially during summer months.
People with certain skin types do tan more easily and frequently and are called photosensitive skin. Sometime the facultative tanning may resist fading even when sun exposure is avoided. Sun screeners can only offer transient protection due to their occlusive nature where the hot day would cause profuse sweating and removal of the sun screeners. Even the residual amount of sun screeners left over the skin would cause messy feel and therefore country like India where the people occupationally stays outdoor for considerable period of time, sun screeners are not the best solution.
Dr. JRK’s solution is quite adaptable to the skin where the functional agents and the super vanishing base, both individually and collectively offer best protection to the skin from tanning.
